Suren from Gyumri, who is currently studying at Ayb High School, is one of the 25 students to have been enrolled at Ayb from marzes. Thanks to our benefactors and supporters, the Ayb Educational Foundation can fully cover his and his friends’ tuition and accommodation costs, ensuring they have access to authentic education in Armenia.
“I heard of Ayb a long while ago, as far back as in 2011, as a participant of Kangaroo competition. My score was quite impressive on the marz level, but I’d always think Ayb was a school for the super-smart, so I never imagined myself there, nor even dreamed of it. It was only after I passed the entrance exams and was invited to Ayb for an interview that I understood how much I wanted to continue my education there, in that very environment, though I loved Gyumri, my friends and surroundings there.
I’d never think I would want to continue my education abroad either (I am too much of a patriot), but I think aspiring for success is only half the battle; achieving it would be impossible without quality education. I want to become an architect and a good one. Ayb is a confident start for that path, and I’d like to specifically outline the Araratian Baccalaureate Program, the most essential component of our education, owing to which I, as an Aybian, came to understand what quality education is. I regret this educational opportunity is not provided to other students as well, those who lack opportunities to study at Ayb High School.
With the assistance from the Scholarship Fund, I found myself in Ayb, which marked the beginning of a new phase in my life, that of quality education, honesty, dreams for the future and my personal goals, which are all intertwined with a wish to see this opportunity for the best education available for thousands of other children from Yerevan and marzes as well."
