On May 23, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia and the National Song and Dance Academy Cultural and Educational Foundation (NSDA) signed a contract according to which they will continue cooperating. NSDA will continue to introduce the national song and dance subject in public schools (the author of the program is Gagik Ginosyan) as well as carry out the training of the teachers for this subject.
This year, the training for the 6th-7th grade program will start on June 4 in Yerevan and Armavir. The training in Vayots Dzor will start on June 19. On June 18, another 53 schools in Yerevan will join the program, and the teachers of these schools will take part in training sessions for the 5th grade program. Thus the subject will be introduced in all secondary schools of Yerevan.
The training program was developed in collaboration with Karin NGO. Karin NGO has also developed the auxiliary materials used during training sessions, particularly theoretical materials and dance music. We wish good luck and productive work to both instructors and teachers.
The National Song and Dance Academy Cultural and Educational Foundation was founded in 2015 by the founder and artistic director of the Karin Traditional Song and Dance Ensemble GAGIK GINOSYAN and the AYB EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION. In 2016, NSDA and the Ministry of Education and Science signed a memorandum of understanding. In 2017, NSDA became responsible for the program of the implementation of the national song and dance subject in schools. It has been four years since the subject began to be taught in public schools.
