Davit is a 5th-grade student at Getap Secondary School. He showed the best result in the Meghu 2018 contest in Vayots Dzor, his native marz. Though he is not entirely sure, he wants to become a dentist as he really likes this occupation. He also says he is so fond of the Armenian language that he takes part in Ayb contests every year and looks forward to the days of the competitions.
“On September 1, our school principal congratulated me, as did the whole school. The fellow villagers would also congratulate me on the streets. They said they’d seen me on TV and in the Internet. I was so happy and excited that everyone congratulated me and wished me new victories!
I have already signed up for Meghu 2019 since I hope to become the all-round winner this year,” says Davit in a cheerful and mischievous voice.
When asked what he likes most about the Meghu contest, he confesses, “Logics; you have to think here to overcome difficulties. The problems are highly engaging, and one needs to analyze them.”
“On the contest day, we sit in separate rows and think for 75 minutes. To spare time, I solve the easier assignments first to then proceed to the difficult ones. This helps me cope with the situation faster. There are 40 students taking part in the contest from our school only, so I can imagine how many there should be from all over Armenia!”
The “Best in the Marz” title also provided him the opportunity to meet RA Prime Minister. “I was so excited! My heart was pounding fast, especially when they read out my name! I got up from my seat and climbed the stage, where the Prime Minister congratulated me and awarded the certificate. I was beyond myself with excitement!” shares Davit enthusiastically.
“I hope to become the winner for another couple of times, to be able to meet the leaders of the country as well. This year I will be taking part in the contest in order to win, which will require a lot of diligence.”
