On April 26, Hayk Chobanyan, Governor of Tavush Marz, and Sona Koshetsyan, CEO of the Ayb Educational Foundation, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at Dilijan Central School, thus expressing their aspiration and commitment to jointly create quality educational culture and environment in the marz.
The Marz Municipality and the Ayb Educational Foundation are willing to contribute their efforts to create quality education and equal opportunities for all children. The parties will cooperate based on their general activity scopes and the experience accrued from all the successful projects implemented by the Foundation throughout the 13 years of its existence.
Within the scope of the Memorandum of Cooperation, the Ayb Educational Foundation is ready to implement educational projects in RA Tavush Marz, jointly with individual partners and other partner entities, to contribute to the educational sector improvement in the marz, reequipment of the general education schools, teacher qualification, knowledge acquisition and assimilation by the students, increased motivation towards education among youth, and formation of a self-learning culture.
Joint activities will be implemented in several directions, in particular:
- Introduction and promotion of the AybLab project in RA Tavush Marz schools
- Development of practical skills among the school teachers within the project scope
- Teacher qualification
- Involvement of Tavush Marz schools in Ayb’s partner schools’ network
- Project-based learning
- Promotion of online learning and self-learning based on the Armenian-language Khan Academy platform
- Consolidation of efforts in the educational tourism sector
The AybLab model successfully piloted in Dilijan and not in the capital will serve as basis for the creation of AybLabs in the marz.
Prior to signing the document, Hayk Chobanyan, Governor of Tavush Marz, Armen Santrosyan, Mayor of Dilijan, Sona Koshetsyan, CEO of the Foundation, Armen Nurbekyan, Head of CBA Dilijan Training and Research Center, and other guests toured Dilijan Central School, led by Headmaster Naira Daluzyan, to acquaint themselves with the activity of the fab lab created on the CBA’s initiative, and other educational opportunities offered by this school of community significance, in line with the strictest requirements of general education.
In his speech, Hayk Chobayan attached great importance to the implementation of educational initiatives in the marz: “The biggest investment is one made for the development of a human capital. Quality science education is a formula for success in the modern world. We are not only signing a memorandum today, but also launching a process that will have a professionally strong teacher as its outcome, and as a result, a knowledgeably strong citizen and a strong state.”
Ayb is an environment where the best programs are being created and implemented, i.e. an educational laboratory in a certain sense, ready to also invest its educational technologies in other structures that are willing and ready to implement them. Sona Koshetsyan envisages increased involvement in the educational projects on the part of both teachers and students, owing to Ayb’s presence in Tavush. She believes that, in the long run, it will lead to educational transformations: “By signing this memorandum, we will foster joint projects in the field mentioned. We will be able to involve other partner entities to expand our cooperation scope and accomplish our priority task, i.e. to smartly invest, from this day on, in our future generations and the development of our country.”
