As you may know, Khan Academy is a global educational platform, which aims to provide quality education to anyone anywhere. Since the establishment of Khan Academy’s Armenian platform, over 35 000 video lessons and 40 000 exercises and articles on various subjects have been localized, including but not limited to mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, humanities, computer science and programming. Our current priority is to expand the science and technology section of the platform, to facilitate the use of the materials by all the students and teachers in their learning and teaching.
The program is funded by the “People in Need” Charitable NGO within the EU Eastern Parnership Covid-19 Solidarity Programme.
Within the scope of the EU-financed program, qualification trainings and workshops will be conducted for the science and math teachers from Shirak, Lori and Kotayk marzes․ The student workshops, on the other hand, will help promote the self-learning culture and use of online education platforms as a supplementary educational means. The program envisages to provide the teachers with an ongoing mentorship and support, exchange of experience through webinars with the participation of the active members of Khan Academy’s teacher community, as well as involvement of the new teachers from the selected marzes therein.
We are positive that the expansion of the Khan Academy platform will contribute to our ultimate goal to ensure that free world-class education in the Armenian language is available to anyone anywhere. Owing to the innovative educational methods, the platform will promote the sustainable development of the scientific and technological sector in the marzes, the pioneers of which will come to be the proactive teacher and student communities to be created within the program scope.
