Gayane Aramyan, head of Khan Academy Armenia, and Anush Ayvazyan, senior project coordinator, participated in Khan Academy’s Annual Summit in Mountain View, USA. Representatives from 14 countries where Khan Academy is localized participated in the Summit.
Every year, representatives of the countries localizing Khan Academy come together to discuss their further activities, assess the accomplished work, and share their experience.
“People sharing the same goals and ideology came together in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Joint discussions and meetings revealed that many educational problems are the same all over the world and that even the most vulnerable schools can benefit from free online education. We’ve jointly discussed Khan Academy’s strategy for the upcoming year, as well as the triennial strategic plan. The issue of the international promotion of Khan Academy and the projects developed over the recent years have been particularly emphasized,” Gayane Aramyan shares.
Meetings with the entire team have taken place, where all the countries presented their projects, in addition to the detailed discussions held on various website tools. Our team has had an individual presentation, during which we talked about how video localization is carried out in Armenia, as well as shared our experience of introducing the projects in our schools. Gayane and Anush also met Salman Khan, the founder of Khan Academy, and had a chance to discuss the Academy’s long-term projects with him.
Khan Academy is growing more accessible to a greater number of people every day, providing everyone an opportunity to learn from a free modern and high-quality educational platform.
