Based on long and positive experience of organizing the Kangaroo International Math Contest and Russian Bear Cub Contest in Armenia, Ayb Foundation has developed the Meghu Armenian Language Contest which has been organized in Armenia and Artsakh since 2014. Meghu’s goal is the same as in case of all other subject contests that Ayb hosts: to kindle the light of desire to learn in students and to engage them in exciting and interesting competitions. Just like Kangaroo, Meghu has also hit record in participation index right in the first year. Meghu aims at generating universal interest toward Armenian language, making the subject maximally engaging for students, developing linguistic thinking and abilities, helping students discover their potential and realize themselves, and contributing to the further development and promotion of the Armenian language.
With the Meghu contest, Ayb has created a precedent for high-quality and successful content of a mass competition in the Armenian language. Ayb wants to make Meghu an international contest, offering Armenian students residing in various countries the opportunity to participate in the contest.
With Meghu Armenian Language Contest, Ayb has created a high-quality and successful content of a mass competition in the Armenian language. Thanks to the thought out system of producing tasks that Ayb has developed and launched within the framework of Meghu, each year the contest offers literate, engaging and interesting tasks, which eventually guarantee the success of the contest. A group of experts work on the production of tasks with clear-cut instructions and a schedule of regular brainstorming and discussions. As a result, a package of logical and appealing tasks that are not repetitive or controversial, nor based on mere memory or knowledge of specific rules is worked out.
The coronavirus-related challenges could not hold the Ayb Educational Foundation back from organizing an ongoing educational celebration for thousands of children and coming up with innovative and timely solutions. Ayb’s massive school contests are transferring to an online platform, enabling thousands of children to test their knowledge and logic via modern technological solutions while participating in the largest educational movement in Armenia.
We are hopeful that the organization of the contest in a new format will serve as a new impetus for the integration of innovations and authentic projects in our education.
We cooperate
We thank all the organizations listed below for their valuable support in the realization of this project:
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia
participated in Meghu 2018
All those who want to participate may sign up at school and take part in the competition.
The tasks are geared towards developing students’ linguistic thinking and abilities.
The tasks and problems of Meghu do not depend on specific learning programs or curricula.
The competition is held in one round and on the same day, without any qualifying rounds.
This is not the goal of the competition. Each student competes with himself, revealing his own potential and testing his knowledge in Armenian language and literature.
All students receive small souvenirs on the day of the competition, and all participating schools and students are awarded certificates of participation.
